The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading and supporting electrical systems retrofit projects. The Electrical Engineer will also provide technical support of maintenance and operations planning and trouble-shooting electrical systems and capital projects.
Heat Trace system design and support.
Development of Plant Electrical Engineering Standards and Policies.
Lead electrical MOC (management of change) activities.
Inspect vendor’s repair and fabrication facilities.
Assist in evaluating electrical test results of motors and other equipment.
Preventative maintenance planning and scheduling.
Specification of replacement electrical hardware up to 13.2 KVA
Development of electrical system projects scope, cost estimates, and justification.
Development of electrical system reliability improvement plans
Review of all applicable codes and standards upon design release to assure compliance.
Four year degree in either Electrical Engineering.
3-7 years of experience in electrical systems in the petrochemical industry
Experience with upto13.2 KVA switchgear, Motor Control Centers, and power distribution systems
Knowledge of NEC and area classification concepts
Knowledge of AC and DC motors and drives
Knowledge of Electrical Safe Work Practices NFPA 70E
Ability to read motor control and power distribution electrical schematics
Project management skills
Experience designing electrical heat trace systems
AC/DC drive programming experience
